Molds & Plastics

conformal cooling channels and hybrid mold inserts

MOLDS AND PLASTICS

The Molds and Plastics industries have high standards and short deadlines.

3D Metal Printing technology provides both industries the fast, precise and demanding production they need.

3D Printing is an additive method. This is why waste of materials is so reduced, unlike subtractive processes that produce large amounts of waste.

Applications and advantages of this technology in the Molds and Plastics industries.

We design the 3D for the conformal cooling channels.

MOLD INSERTS WITH CONFORMAL COOLING CHANNELS:

- Better temperature distribution along the plastic part;

- Cycle time reduction (up to 40%);

- Lower amount of rejected parts

BUSH WITH CONFORMAL COOLING CHANNELS:

- Nozzle temperature control;

HYBRID INSERTS:

This type of inserts has the base manufactured by the conventional CNC process, while the top, with conformal channels, is manufactured using the 3D Metal Printing technology.

The insert base material must be compatible with the 3D Metal Printing material. These materials are shown in our materials list.

However, if the material you are looking for is not listed, we can perform a compatibility test to check its suitability.

This method allows us to reduce financial costs by achieving the same final product with a lower cycle time, taking advantage of the benefits and complementarity of both technologies.
